His first show was the Natural Ohio in 2010, placing 3rd in Open Heavyweight Class and 4th in the Juniors Class. Then Alex competed at the Collegiate Nationals in 2011, placing 4th in the Heavyweight Class. In addition he competed in the Mid-Atlantic Classic in 2011, taking 2nd in Open Heavyweight Class and the Victory Classic in 2012, placing 1st in the Open Super-Heavyweight Class. Finally, Alex competed at the NPC Nationals in 2012, and was 16th in the Super Heavyweight Class. We photographed Alex at the Nationals in Atlanta. Alex has been lifting since he was 13 years old, and it was geared towards football until he was 19 when he stopped playing. Alex then took a break for about a year and resumed training when he was 20. He didn’t start training for bodybuilding until 3 1/2 years ago. As to other sports, Alex was NCAA State Swimming Champion in his junior year in high school in 2005, and played college football at Brevard College and UNC Pembroke for one year. He stopped because the injuries weren’t worth it to him. The training manifested itself into bodybuilding after a gym friend took Alex to a show, from which he immediately fell in love with the sport. Since then, Alex‚Äôs passion for the sport has grown every day. We expect big things from Alex, and we are pleased to add Alex Champion to our roster of upcoming bodybuilders and fitness models at NorthAmericanBodies.com!
